The Group’s power plants annually carry out activities aimed at increasing the share of industrial water reuse and reducing the volume of wastewater. For example, the cooling tower at Omsk CHPP-5 (cooling tower No. 4) was reconstructed and modernized in order to reduce the power plant’s need for water make-up. The pump for conditionally clean wastewater was installed at Omsk CHPP-3, which also made it possible to reduce the amount of the taken water. The special chamber was built to redirect the wastewater from the CHPP-3 to the collector of Omsk Vodokanal JSC in order to minimize the negative impact of the wastewater from Omsk CHPP-3 on surface water objects. Industrial wastewater of PJSC Inter RAO is disinfected at the wastewater outlet to the Lake Gusinoe (Gusinoozerskaya SDPS). The project on the reconstruction of the inlet, outlet and outlet channels of technical water supply at Kostroma SDPS is ongoing (completion in 2019). The works on the construction o the treatment facilities at Cherepetskaya SDPS and the designing of the wastewater treatment at outlet No. 3 of the Kostroma TPP are ongoing. The correctional regime of cooling towers with the use of scale inhibitors was developed taking into account the refusal of reagents that are ineffective under the current conditions at Kaliningrad CHPP-2. The reduction in water consumption of Group’s heating network assets is achieved by reducing the heating network recharge while reducing losses in the heating network. So, Bash RTS-Sterlitamak LLC achieved a decrease in the supply of the heat network in comparison with 2017 by 38.45 thousand tons.
