Yury SHAROV, the General Director of Inter RAO - Engineering, was awarded with the IV class Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” for his labor achievements and many years of diligent work in the Management Board of Inter RAO. The corresponding Decree was signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on May 29 of the current year.
Yury Sharov’s whole career is connected with the electric power industry with over 30 years of accumulated experience. He has been a member of Inter RAO Group’s management since 2008 and the head of Inter RAO - Engineering, a company specialized in construction and modernization of power plants, since 2012.
Under the leadership of Yury Sharov, during the period of 2012 - 2018, a total of 16 new power facilities amounting to total production capacity of 5.7 GW were built and deployed. Currently, four new power plants are under construction in the Kaliningrad Oblast with approximate total capacity of 1 GW. The project is carried out in accordance with a Commission of the President of Russia and the Decrees of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Yury Sharov has a PhD and is the Head of the Department of electric power systems of Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications and several patents in the field of electric power. His high professionalism and significant contribution to the development of the Russian energy industry has been awarded with numerous state and industry awards. He also holds the Russian title of “Merited Power Engineer of the Russian Federation”.
