Russian Power Generation and Heat Production Companies of Inter RAO Group Announce RAS Financial Results for the Twelve Months of 2020

11 February 2021

*The financial results are given for the following power generation companies: JSC Inter RAO — Electric Power Plants, JSC Nizhnevartovskaya TPP, Bashkir Generation Company LLC, JSC TGC-11, and JSC Tomsk Generation.

The following key factors affected the operational and financial results of Russian power generation subsidiaries of Inter RAO Group:

  • Decrease in electricity and heat consumption caused by a higher air temperature in 2020, as well as the impact of the lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Q2, 2020;
  • Increase in the volume of hydroelectric power generation (+9%) due to the high-water hydrological situation resulting in the decrease in the load of thermal generation by the System Operator;
  • Decommissioning of three power units from January 1, 2020, and a turbine generator from May 2, 2020, at Kashirskaya SDPP with the total capacity of 980 MW, as well as decommissioning of a gas generator at Iriklinskaya SDPP with the capacity of 7.5 MW;
  • Capacity utilization of the leased facilities of LLC Kaliningrad Generation due to the increase of the duration of work of the power units No. 3 and No. 4 at Pregolskaya TPP in 2020 (commissioned in February and April 2019), and commissioning of three blocks at Primorskaya TPP in 2020;
  • Increase in fuel prices.
