Inter RAO Group received the leadership position in Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) based on the results of the Climate Change Report for 2020. The company improved its rating compared to 2019 by three points and received the high A- score, placing the company in the Leadership category. This rating is significantly higher than the international average for all companies (Global average – C) and the power industry (B).
Inter RAO Group gives great attention to sustainable development and makes considerable efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its enterprises. Since 2014 the company has implemented annual measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at power plants. This has resulted in a 15% decrease in annual emissions.
In 2019 Inter RAO joined the United Nations Global Compact, the UN's largest international corporate social responsibility initiative. As part of that, the company has considerably increased transparency in terms of information disclosure regarding the impact on climate, and the indicators in its report have been significantly improved compared to the previous year.
"The A- score given by the established international organization CDP means that the company's efforts in the sphere of sustainable development have been appreciated. Moreover, this will attract the attention of socially-oriented international investors to the company's activities," stated the Head of Strategy and Investment Division of PJSC Inter RAO Aleksey MASLOV.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an international not-for-profit charity which collects environmental data from about 10,000 companies all over the world. CDP is the largest and one of the most established environmental data disclosure systems. The platform is used by over 150 large corporate customers that buy its products and services worth more than 4 million US dollars, and 515 investment funds with assets under management worth over 106 trillion US dollars. CDP maintains the largest international greenhouse gas emission database. Participants are assessed in the rating categories with scores from A to D based on transparency of their environmental activities and reports.
