Moscow. November 12, 2009. JSC INTER RAO UES took the news positively that the company’s shares had been included in the revised and amended MSCI Emerging Markets Index. Changes to the index will come into force from December 1, 2009.
According to investment analysts, inclusion in the MSCI EM Index will help to broaden the circle of potential institutional investors and have a positive effect on the liquidity of JSC INTER RAO UES shares. At present trading in JSC INTER RAO UES shares has been stopped due to the decrease of the company’s authorized capital. The company is planning to resume share trading by early December 2009.
MSCI Emerging Markets Index, developed by Morgan Stanley company, reflects the aggregate dynamics of the value of more than 750 leading companies from 22 countries around the world. JSC INTER RAO UES is one of the three largest Russian electric power companies, whose shares are included in the Index.
