The Investment Programme of OJSC INTER RAO UES is focused on developing new capacities based on leading-edge high-performance technologies, ensuring reliable performance of the equipment in place, improving its energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of industrial activities.
The Company's main projects are:
1. Expand Sochinskaya TES with two-boiler single-turbine unit No. 3.
The project is being implemented in accordance with the Federal Special-Purpose Programme for the Construction of Olympic Venues and Development of Sochi as a Mountain Climatic Resort and constitutes an integral part of the power supply solution for the 2014 Olympic Games.
The capacity of the unit to be placed in service will be 80 MW, with the station capacity to reach 160 MW; it is expected to come on-stream in 2009.
2. Reengineering of Ivanovskiye PGU including installation of a 325-MW combined-cycle plant, CCP-325 unit No 2.
The construction of unit 2 is a follow-up on the programme to upgrade the Ivanovskiye PGU, which was launched by RAO UES of Russia, with the first unit brought on-stream in 2004.
The construction project uses a cutting-edge GTE-110 gas-turbine plant made by NPO Saturn, which provides a platform for CCP-325 units with efficiency factor of up to 51%.
The capacity of the unit to be placed in service will be 325 MW, with the station's installed capacity to reach 650 MW; it is also expected to come on-stream in 2009.
3. Construction of CCP-450 unit No 2 at Kaliningradskaya TETs-2.
The construction of the station's unit No 2 is a follow-up on the Federal Special-Purpose Programme for the development of Kaliningrad Region, with the first CCP-450 unit brought on-stream in 2005. The project is being implemented with the involvement of a strategic investor – OAO Gazprom.
The unit's capacity will be 450 MW, with the station capacity to reach 900 MW; it is expected to come on-stream in 2010.
The total amount of the Investment Programme of OJSC INTER RAO UES for the period 2009-2011 is 32.3 bln roubles, with 18.4 bln roubles for 2009. The programme sources are own and borrowed funds, as well as contributions from the strategic investor.
As a part of its activities abroad, the INTER RAO Group implements in the CIS members a wide range of investment projects in generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, aimed at improving the reliability of the national grids of the countries involved, their energy efficiency, as well as at expanding the distribution area and boosting business profitability. The amount of investment in 2009 is envisioned at the level of 6 bln roubles.
