At the end of 2008 the installed electric capacity of the Russian production assets of the Company was 1,753 MW, thermal capacity – 764 Gkal/hour. In the total structure of installed capacity 51.3% fell on branch Severo-Zapadnaya TETs, 25.7% – on branch Kaliningradskaya TETs-2, 18.5% – on branch Ivanovskiye PGU, and 4.5% – on branch Sochinskaya TES.
In 2006-2008 the installed electric capacity of Russian production assets increased by 627.6 MW (or 55.7%) due to commissioning of the second power-generating unit at Severo-Zapadnaya TETs and power-generating unit ¹1 in branch Ivanovskiye PGU.
The average coefficient of utilization of installed electric capacity in Russian production assets in 2008 was 65.6%. In 2006-2008 the coefficient of utilization of installed capacity fell by 10.4 percentage points, which is connected with slack in the second powergenerating unit of Severo-Zapadnaya TETs due to insufficient natural gas assigned to the plant.
The highest indicators of utilization of installed capacity in 2008 were achieved in branch Kaliningradskaya TETs-2 (over 85%).
In 2008 the average available capacity of Russian production assets was 1,431 MW (82% of installed capacity).
The total productive supply of electric power by the Russian power plants in 2008 was 10,408 million kilowatt-hours, and the supply of electric power of its own production was 78.2% of the total volume.
In 2008 the total volume of production of electric power by the Russian power plants was 8,142 million kilowatt-hours, including by branch Severo-Zapadnaya TETs – 53.6%, by branch Kaliningradskaya TETs-2 – 33.0%, by branch Ivanovskiye PGU – 8.0%, and by branch Sochinskaya TES – 5.4% In total in 2006-2008 the increase of output at production assets of JSC INTER RAO UES was 1,747 million kilowatt-hours (or 27.3%). The major increases were registered at Severo-Zapadnaya TETs (57.1%) and at Ivanovskiye PGU (increase by 37.4%), connected with commissioning of new power capacities at these power plants.
The total installed capacity of foreign generating assets in 2008 did not change in comparison with 2006-2007 and was 5,722.5 MW.
The largest share in the total installed capacity of foreign power plants belonged to capacity of thermal power plants – 72%.
Production of electric power by foreign generating companies in 2008 was 12,946 million kilowatt-hours.
In comparison with 2007 in 2008 production of electric power by foreign generating assets increased by 632 kilowatt-hours or by 5.1%. In the total volume of production of electric power the share of thermal power plants was 72.1%, of hydroelectric power plants – 8.8%, of nuclear station – 19.1%.
The maximum yearly volume of electric power production in 2008 – 6.2 billion kilowatt-hours – was registered at JSC Stantsiya Ekibastuzskaya GRES-2, where production growth in comparison with 2007 was 17%. This indicator is a record for this power plant. Up to the present moment the maximum electric power production at Ekibastuzskaya GRES-2 was recorded in 2004 in the volume of 5.6 billion kilowatt-hours. It is important to note that the increase of electric power production at JSC Stantsiya Ekibastuzskaya GRES-2 was achieved in combination with a lower specific expenditure of fuel by almost 3% in comparison with 2007. It resulted from the measures taken within the framework of implementation of the complex investment programme of improvement of technical conditions of the power plant.
In comparison with the previous year in 200 growth of electric power production was recorded at CJSC IPC (11%), CJSC Moldavskaya GRES (5.7%). The volume of electric power production at JSC Khramhesi GES-2 in 2008 after completion of upgrading of the hydroelectric power plant increased by almost 86%.
