JSC INTER RAO UES is a diversified energy holding headquartered in Moscow and managing assets in Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Moldova, Lithuania and Finland. The company produces and sells electric energy and heat, trades energy on the international market, and engineers, designs and builds generating assets. JSC INTER RAO UES controls and manages power plants with combined capacity in excess of 29,000 MW.
The company was established in early 2008 on the basis of CJSC INTER RAO UES and a nubmer of Russian generating assets which were transferred to the former as a part of Russian power industry reform.
CJSC INTER RAO UES was created in 1997 by its founder, JSC RAO UES of Russia, by decree #13p adopted on August 20, 1996, in accordance with the Civil Code of Russian Federation, Federal Law on Joint-Stock Companies and other laws and regulations of Russian Federation.
