INTER RAO UES OJSC, a fast growing power supplier with a number of generation and distribution assets in Russia and abroad, and a major investor and a leading exporter and importer of electric power, is looking to recruit Senior Power Trade and Risk Expert for its Finnish Subsidiary (RAO Nordic Oy). This role will be based in Helsinki, with direct subordination to the Audit Committee of RAO Nordic Oy (Moscow).

Senior Power Trade and Risk Expert

Responsibilities

Monitor the integrity of RAO Nordic Oy’ financial statements, review internal financial controls and coordinate audits which affect Risk management and Trading strategies
Assess the effectiveness of implemented controls based on a generally accepted international standard for Internal Controls; assess adequacy of product/book/hedging controls
Prepare regular aggregated trading and risk reports and/or presentations for Audit Committee; be ready to clarify independently questions on Risk policies/procedures and Trading strategies
Ad hoc analysis as directed by Audit Committee
Conduct relevant analyses and work either alone or with the Head of Trading department of RAO Nordic Oy to align Audit Committee on conclusions and recommendations
Lead and accompany dialog between Audit Committee, RAO Nordic Oy Management and External auditors
Support Risk manager of RAO Nordic Oy for IT testing and development
Report to the Audit committee, identifying any matters in respect of which action or improvement may be needed
Working with multi-cultural colleagues and forming productive working relationships

Qualifications

Min. 5 years experience working in an energy environment (Nordic area), ideally with a trading company
Experience through the lifecycle (from idea to delivery) of sophisticated trading strategies and risk management concepts
A proven self starter with a demonstrable delivery track record
Good numeracy with experience of applying it to financial/commercial analysis and concepts, ability to cope with tight deadlines
Strong analytical thinker and problem solving capability
Able to take complex issues and explain them in a structured and simple form to Audit Committee.
Outgoing and comfortable with building networks, excellent written and spoken English essential, additional languages are an advantage
