Innovation in power industry is a special element of INTER RAO UES business model. INTER RAO UES 2015 development strategy gives special focus to innovation-focused approach as the fuel to drive growth of the corporation and the industry as a whole.

Deploying innovative technologies requires systematic progress in the following areas:

Research and development focused on increasing efficiency of generating equipment
Finding and applying new technologies to increase power production and consumption energy efficiency and energy saving
Finding and applying new technologies to make the production more environmentally sustainable
Developing renewable energy source utilization programs

INTER RAO UES is currently actively promoting innovative energy solutions. We have already started working on a number of joint projects with ALSTOM, Electricite de France, FENICE, General Electric and GK Rostekhnologii in areas like engineering, equipment manufacturing, energy-saving technology deployment and energy audit. We consider and discuss biological fuel, wind energy and solar energy projects. A dedicated INTER RAO UES Science and Technology Council was established to conduct expert reviews and deliver recommendations on innovative initiatives in INTER RAO UES.
